This is a dwarf variety of Alocasia cucullata which is also known as the Hooded Dwarf Elephant Ear. This houseplant has a neat glossy green leaf with intricate white veins that are edged in purple. Alocasia cucullata does best in bright indirect light and should be watered only when the soil feels dry to the touch. As with most foliage houseplants Alocasia cucullata should be kept out of direct sunlight and drafts.
