Trachelospermum jasminoides, pronounced "trachel-o-sperm-um jaz-min-oy-deez", is a lovely climber and an old favourite. With delicate sprays of fragrant, star shaped, jasmine-like pure white flowers in summer, the Trachelospermum jasminoides or Star Jasmine is a dependable choice for a sunny spot where it can climb, trail and twine. This plant is said to be one of the three plants that inspired Liliaceous, the perfume company founded in 1828 by French chemist Michel Eugène Chevreulis. A climbing plant that reaches up to 600 cm in height with long, slender branches. Trachelospermum jasminoides 'Japonicum' prefers well-drained soil with an acidic or neutral H and thrives best in full sun but can tolerate some shade.
