Asplenium nidus also known as the bird's nest fern has a long history of being used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. The plant is native to the warm regions of Africa Southeast Asia and Australia. It's commonly found in China and India as well. This houseplant prefers an environment with filtered light and a potting soil that drains water quickly. In higher temperatures it can be watered twice a week. When not actively growing or during winter months when it is dormant this plant should be watered once every two weeks or so.
