Green houseplant no longer green?

Are your green indoor plants looking less than green? If your plant has become sick, it might be time to take a closer look at how you're watering it. Often, plants can become sick due to over-watering. So, it's important to be mindful of how much water each individual plant needs. Additionally, the location of the plant (i.e. its positioning) can also be a factor. For instance, if the leaves that are normally variegated turn green, it's often a sign that the plant isn't getting enough light. And, if you notice leaf drop, yellowing leaves, or brown tips, it might be a sign of spider mites.

Caring for foliage plants

As a general rule, green indoor plants don't like to be over-watered. So, it's important to be cautious and give your plant moderate amounts of water. During the growing season, it's a good idea to feed your plant every two weeks with plant food. Remember, not all green indoor plants have the same moisture requirements, so only water when the soil is dry. At our garden centre in Leusden, we have special plant food for green plants and leaf spray for extra shine. Your indoor plants will love a refreshing mist with a plant sprayer, and they'll also enjoy being placed outside for a gentle rain shower! And don't forget to repot your growing plant. If you keep your plant in a pot that's too small, it won't be able to grow as vigorously.
